From novelist Steven Faramelli, The Last Symphony is a magical realism coming-of-age novel. Teenager Chase Masters sees music notes almost everywhere he looks — when he’s surfing with his best friend Riley, or chilling in his VW bus. He uses the notes as inspiration to create music that sounds like magic. He has the potential to be a once-in-a-generation virtuoso, but has never finished a composition. After tragedy strikes, he finds someone who might be the mentor he needs to push him to greatness. Just as he begins work towards his dream, alongside his new girlfriend Liz and Riley, a deadly man-made flu pandemic threatens everything. Chase unwittingly finds himself dragged into an apocalyptic world of weaponized genetics, bioterrorism, and betrayal. His world is twisted upside down, and he has to fight for what he truly loves before time runs out.

Steven Faramelli is an author and artist living in northern Indiana. He grew up in a small town in Illinois near the Mississippi River. Living a block from the town's library helped establish his love for reading at a young age. He first discovered he had an interest in writing after taking a science fiction writing course at a College for Kids summer session while he was in seventh grade. After receiving a BFA in Illustration, he went on to a career in graphic design that took him to several states. He rediscovered his love for writing while taking the train to Chicago from the suburbs for work, and began writing his first novel longhand on those rides. When he isn't writing he can be found working on possibly the longest house renovation in history, restoring his 1978 Volkswagen bus, or at one of his children's sporting events.
